Meta’s popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, is introducing an innovative reply bar feature for swift responses to images, videos, and GIFs, as reported by WABetaInfo.
As per the report, this fresh reply bar feature will be accessible to users after they’ve installed the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.20 update from the Google Play Store. To confirm if you have access to this feature, simply open WhatsApp and view any image, video, or GIF. If you see the reply bar, you’re good to go. If not, try tapping once more. Keep in mind that this feature is currently limited to beta testers, but it’s expected to roll out to more users soon.
How It Functions:
According to WABetaInfo, “The new reply bar allows users to quickly respond to specific media within a chat without dismissing the current screen, making it easier to maintain the flow of conversation and not lose context regarding the shared content.” This enhancement aims to provide a smoother user experience by minimizing screen interruptions.
In other related news, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a search feature for the Updates tab. This feature will enable users to search for status updates, followed channels, and other verified channels without having to navigate through the channel directory. It simplifies the process of finding status updates and verified channels.
